For Engineering Choose the University of Hertfordshire
The University of Hertfordshire is a fantastic place to be student. Our two campuses are very close to each other, serviced by a free shuttle service and provide you with a lively and friendly environment in which to live and study. They are located just 20 miles north of London’s city centre, just a short train ride away, so there is always lots of things to see and do!
New developments at the University ensure that all of our students get the best university experience. In 2003 we opened the new £120 million de Havilland campus with a state-of-the-art learning resources centre and brand new sports village. On the College Lane campus high quality teaching is supplemented by state-of-the-art study facilities with a £15M multi-award winning learning resources centre including our ground-breaking StudyNet system, which provides 24/7 virtual access to learning. There are also 1600 single student accommodation rooms with ensuite facilities and broadband internet connection. In 2004 the University won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
School of Aerospace, Automotive and Design Engineering
These are exciting times for over 1000 students in the School of Aerospace, Automotive and Design Engineering. Our graduates work as senior Engineers in both the aerospace and automotive industry all over the World, in fact nearly every F1 racing team has a graduate Engineer from our School and our Mechanical Engineers experience anything from rocket motors to microengineering to designing medical instrumentation. So studying Engineering with us will develop your talent and reward your hard work. If you wish to find our more about us, or come to have a look then our admissions tutor is Dr. Liz Byrne at c.e.byrne@herts.ac.uk. If you want to see what our students and others think about us, check www1.tqi.ac.uk for the HEFCE National Students Survey result for mechanically based subjects at UH.
Our curriculum is refreshed continually from our own contributions to research, reviewed annually by two Industry advisory panels and validated by the senior UK professional Engineering associations. Our graduates are highly employable and our alumni generously give back to the School through an annual conference describing their employment experiences to our students. We are an international centre for excellence in Teaching and Learning and this excellence is enhanced by firstclass facilities. Why not come and talk to us about your Engineering future?
