Career Opportunities

Royal Navy
Anything's possible with a career
in the Royal Navy...
Royal Navy

Manoeuvring a frigate safely through high seas in mid-Atlantic... repairing a submarine's sonar equipment... navigating a Lynx helicopter out over the ocean...providing medical care in an emergency...

In a fast-moving, professional organisation like ours everybody counts. Men and women just like you are forging the kind of career you may be looking for.

Royal Navy teams are made up of Ratings and Officers.

As a Rating you will serve on ships or at shore supporting the sea-going Fleet and Personnel. If you can prove that you know your job and that you can lead people, you can be promoted to become an Officer.

As an Officer in the Royal Navy you will be trained as a specialist to perform key operational roles. You will have management responsibility for people and for state-of-the-art equipment. Specialists in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines work together to carry out vital work in ships, submrines, aircraft, naval air stations and shore establishments.
